Article Overview 

This article will briefly overview drawing and assigning areas on the Web App in the previous version of SalesRabbit vs. the in the Next Generation of SalesRabbit.

Part 1: Previous Area Management

This part quickly demonstrates how to create/manage areas on the previous version of SalesRabbit.

  • From the SalesHub Map, click the "Area Tool Drawer" icon in the upper right corner.
  • Next, select the "Office" the area will be assigned to.
  • Use the mouse to click various points on the map to create an Area/Territory.
  • Upon completing the area shape, "Area Info" will appear on the right side.
  • Use the dropdown and "Assign" button to assign a user to the new area.
  • The area is now assigned to the designated user and visible on the mobile app!

Part 2: New Area Management

This part quickly demonstrates how to create/manage areas on the next generation of SalesRabbit.

  • From the SalesRabbit Web App, navigate to "SalesHub" -> click "Map".
  • In the next generation of SalesRabbit, there are two options when it comes to creating new areas:
    • Polygon Mode: create areas using the mouse to click points around the area boundaries.
      • Click the "Draw Area" icon in the upper left corner -> select "Polygon Mode".
      • Use the mouse to click points around the new area boundaries.
      • After completing the shape, an "Create Area" menu will appear, allowing users to add an Area Name, assign the area to a Team, and assign the area to a member of the selected team.
  • Freehand Mode: draw areas freely using the mouse.
    • Click the "Draw Area" icon in the upper left corner -> select "Freehand Mode".
    • Use the mouse to click once, then draw the new area freely.
    • Click again to complete the area shape.
    • After completing the shape, an "Create Area" menu will appear, allowing users to add an Area Name, assign the area to a Team, and assign the area to a member of the selected team.
  • Don't forget to click the "Create" button for your new area assignment to be created.
  • Users will be notified in the mobile app when a new area is assigned to them.

Pro Tips

  • If a user is unable to create areas on the Web App, ensure that that user's Role has the Manage Areas permission enabled.
