Map Overlays in SalesRabbit+ are powerful visual tools that help door-to-door sales organizations identify boundaries and locations to drive better territory and area management. By displaying custom geographic layers on your map, teams can clearly visualize sales territories, service areas, zoning restrictions, and other critical boundaries that impact field operations.
TIP: Map Overlays are available on the Pro Plan. Accepted files include: .kml, .kmz, .shp, .geojson
Part 1: Map Overlay Permissions
Only users whose role has the "Map Overlays" manage permission enabled will be able to upload map overlays via the web app.
- From the SalesRabbit Web App, navigate to "Settings" -> select "Roles & Permissions".
- Select the role you'd like to edit this permission for -> locate the "Map Overlays" permission -> ensure the "Manage" checkbox has been checked.
- If adjusting this permission for an existing role, be sure to click "Save" to apply your changes.
Part 2: Uploading Map Overlays
Importing/Uploading a file to Map Overlay
- From the SalesRabbit Web App, navigate to "SalesHub" -> click "Map".
- Click on the "Map Layers" icon, found on the left side.
- Click the "Add Overlay" button in the right hand menu to upload an overlay.
- Under "File", click or drag your file into that section.
- Next, name the overlay under "Title".
- Under "Visibility", select which Teams/Users can view the overlay on web and mobile.
Part 3: View Map Overlays on Web

- After uploading map overlays, users can apply the overlay to the Map in the SalesHub.
- Click the "Map Layers" icon in the upper left corner (bottom icon).
- In the right menu, users will see a list of available and uploaded overlays.
- Use the checkbox to the left of the overlay name to apply the overlay to the map. Multiple overlays can be applied at once.
- After applying an overlay, users can use the Area Tool to draw areas assign it to a user(s).
Part 4: Map Overlays on Mobile
Navigate Map Overlays in the Mobile App
- From the SalesRabbit+ mobile app, navigate to "SalesHub".
- To access and apply uploaded map overlays, click on the "Map Layers" icon in the upper right corner.
- A "Map Settings" drawer will appear at the bottom of the screen.
- From there, select the map overlay(s) that you would like to display on the map.
- Users can then create an area and/or territory and assign it to a user(s).
- Note: applying too many overlays at once may cause performance issues.

- Supported File Types: KML, KMZ, SHP, GEOJSON
- Maximum File Size: 5MB
- Upload up to 100 map overlays.
- Note: users may experience performance issues when enabling multiple overlays at once.
